Northwestern Vs. Nebraska Score: Wildcats Lead Nebraska In Low-Scoring Big Ten Game

Stay connected with SB Nation

Northwestern is on its maiden voyage to Lincoln in a Big Ten conference game, and it's been so far, so good for the Wildcats early on. NU leads NU ... er, Northwestern leads Nebraska 7-3 as we approach halftime, a Jacob Schmidt two-yard touchdown run being the difference in the game so far.

Most of the Wildcats' yardage has come from the arm of Dan Persa, who's 9-of-14 for 79 yards. The ground game has not been a insignificant factor, but it's spread over several players. Persa is tied with Treyvon Green the team lead in rushing, with 19 yards.

For Nebraska, Taylor Martinez is 12-of-14 for 110 yards. Rex Burkhead has run the ball 14 times for 51 yards. And Brett Maher has booted a 36-yard field goal to give the Huskers their only points.
