South Carolina's chance to secure the SEC East in Fayetteville tonight has been a quixotic pursuit against explosive Arkansas tonight, but Connor Shaw getting rocked and injured late may be the biggest setback of this Saturday.
Shaw was crushed by Arkansas' Jake Bequette on a rush late in the fourth quarter, fumbled to give Arkansas possession within a hair's breadth of the Gamecocks' goal line, and essentially ended South Carolina's comeback chances. But Shaw's injury might linger past this week.
Shaw stayed down for a few minutes, walked off the field under his own power, and appeared dazed on the South Carolina sideline.
Shaw didn't return to the game, with South Carolina inserting freshman Dylan Thompson on its final drive.
