Kirby Smart, Ole Miss Have Not Yet Had Interview, According To Report

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kirby Smart has not yet interviewed for the Mississippi Rebels head coaching job, according to Don Kausler Jr. of AL.com. Smart had been widely reported earlier in the week as a top Ole Miss candidate.

According to the report, Smart has been "on the road recruiting all week with Nick Saban," and goodness help the coach who takes time away from a recruiting trip while Nick Saban is around.

Smart has no glaring connections to Mississippi, having spent the majority of his football career in Georgia and Alabama, along with stints in Florida. He's long been associated with the Georgia Bulldogs job, which you'll note isn't quite as available right now as it was expected to be by some.

Soon, the entire SEC will be nothing but Saban disciples.
