The West Virginia Moutaineers should have their final Big East matchup of the year under control, but have been unable to pull away from the South Florida Bulls. The 'Eers are leading, 20-13, but a series of third-quarter mistakes have kept USF hanging around. And West Virginia has still been unable to muster an offensive touchdown.
The Mountaineers did find the end zone in the third quarter, but it came by way of a kickoff return. Following a USF field goal, Marvin Kloss took the ensuing kickoff straight to the house, scoring on a 90-yard return. It was the only touchdown of the quarter.
West Virginia turned the ball over twice in the third on a fumble and a Geno Smith interception. But South Florida could only take advantage in a small way, converting each into field goals instead of touchdowns.
