Colorado State has concluded their coaching search, hiring Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, according to reports.

The Colorado State Rams have concluded their head coaching search, hiring Alabama offensive coordinator Jim McElwain according to a report by Rivals.com. McElwain will replace the fired Steve Fairchild. It is unknown at this time when McElwain will actually take over for the Rams, as the Crimson Tide are playing LSU in the BCS National Title Game.

McElwain has been an offensive coach in the NCAA since 2007, when he was hired to be Fresno State's offensive coordinator. McElwain called the NCAA's 38th ranked offense that season, averaging nearly 420 yards of offense per game. In 2008, McElwain was hired by Alabama head coach Nick Saban to be the Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator, where he has helped lead Alabama to a National Title in 2010 behind a ball-control style of offense led by Heisman winning running back Mark Ingram.
