Penn St. Nittany Lions quarterback Matt McGloin was knocked unconscious during a locker room fight with wide receiver Curtis Drake on Saturday.
According to McGloin (via The Post-Gazette), the fight was his fault and his injury was an accident. According to McGloin, he slipped and hit his head on the concrete floor at the Lasch Football Building after ten seconds of fighting.
"The next thing I remember is waking up on a stretcher," he said, "and going to the hospital."
"I'm willing to take full responsibility -- it was my fault," he said. "I started it, but as a quarterback for this university, I should be held to a higher standard. It should not have happened. I should've walked away from it.
"It was just two guys who are emotional about the game, who got into an argument."
Interim coach Tom Bradley said Monday that McGloin and Drake "will face internal discipline." Bradley has not name a starting quarterback for Penn State's bowl game and has not announced that McGloin has been cleared to play yet.

Penn St. Nittany Lions quarterback Matt McGloin has not yet been cleared to practice after suffering an injury in a post-practice fight with wide receiver Curtis Drake, coach Tom Bradley said during his Monday press conference.
Campus police are investigating the fight, during which McGloin reportedly was either knocked unconscious or went into seizure. He was taken to a hospital and released. His status for the team's upcoming TicketCity Bowl game against the Houston Cougars is obviously undetermined.
Bradley also said Shane McGregor won't take first team snaps for the time being, which should be good news, in a roundabout way. PSU's quarterback situation appeared to be quite unsettled after finding some stability in McGloin, with backup Rob Bolden reportedly facing "minor" legal trouble, but "minor" legal trouble isn't usually enough to keep quarterbacks out of bowl games.
The Penn State interim coach said Bolden will be punished internally.

Details of the reported fight between Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin and wide receiver Curtis Drake continue to emerge, painting a somewhat scary picture of the locker room altercation. McGloin and Drake made headlines on Saturday when they reportedly got into it in the Penn State locker room following a heated practice in which the two exchanged words throughout. The fight reportedly ended with McGloin being taken to the hospital to be checked out, and police investigating the situation.
McGloin also suffered a seizure, according to his father. But the seizure was not the result of a punch from Drake. In fact, the seizure was reportedly triggered by a fall, according to Nate Bauer.
I'm told McGloin had seizure from hitting head on the ground before Drake threw punch. Wasn't 'knocked out' as source believed.
McGloin is at home resting comfortably after being checked out following the incident.
As for Drake, this isn't the first time he's been caught doing it wrong. According to Ron Musselman, Drake's had troubles around campus, getting into at least two fights before Saturday's incident.
Prior to today's incident with Matt McGloin, Curtis Drake had been in 2 previous fights on campus where he was cited for disorderly conduct.
It's unclear what punishment Drake faces, both from the team and, perhaps, law enforcement.

Penn State Matt McGloin was reportedly knocked out in a locker room scuffle with wide receiver Curtis Drake following a heated practice on Saturday. McGloin was reportedly taken to the hospital to be checked out and the team met at 4:30 p.m., to presumably discuss the situation.
The situation, however, may have been more serious than just the fight. McGloins' father told the Patriot-News the Penn State quarterback was being checked for a possible seizure following the incident.
Paul McGloin, Matt's father, told The Patriot-News Saturday afternoon that he had left his home and just arrived in State College to check on his son's health. Paul McGloin said Penn State team doctor Wayne Sebastianelli notified him that his son was being checked for a possible seizure.
Later, McGloin's father apparently confirmed a seizure (via Ron Musselman).
Matt McGloin's dad said his son suffered seizure today and has possible concussion. Says he is back at his apartment now.
As an aside, the following tweets were sent from an account that's previously been linked to McGloin a short time ago.
A teammate tweeted at him a short time later telling him to take it easy, as well.
Edit: McGloin says he was hacked and after even more suspicious tweets, the account was suspended. Safe to say it wasn't McGloin.
