After a horrible Thursday night that saw USF drop a home game to West Virginia, eliminating the school from bowl contention, the Bulls needed a better Friday. They got it, as massive (6'3" 215) wide receiver D'Vario Montgomery pulled the trigger, giving his verbal commitment to the Bulls, reports Voodoo Five.
Montgomery stars for Winter Park High School (FL). He claimed offers from Arkansas, Georgia, Louisville, South Florida, UCF and West Virginia, though some of those are unconfirmed and somewhat suspect.
Though not a burner, Montgomery still makes plenty of plays, as he uses his size and power to get open on the short and intermediate routes. He'll never be a deep threat, but can break the tackles of smaller defensive backs. Most services have him as a high three-star recruit or a low four-star recruit. Though very raw, he is definitely one of South Florida's top recruits this cycle.
Montgomery should play early, per VoodooFive:
Montgomery should play from day one here in Tampa, much like Andre Davis this season. Skip will try to ease him into the rotation to start the year, but you can't really leave a quality talent like Montgomery on the sideline.
Montgomery was suspended after an altercation with an official.
