Florida State senior running back Jermaine Thomas will miss the Champs Sports Bowl.

Jermaine Thomas will not play for the Florida State Seminoles in the Champs Sports Bowl. The FSU senior running back has been declared academically ineligible, and therefore, cannot play in what would have been his final game. Said Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher, "He didn't pass a class, so he will not be in the bowl game. A shame for a senior."

Thomas got off to a fantastic start in his FSU career, producing at a great rate as a freshman and sophomore. Unfortunately, things haven't gone well for Thomas since then, as a combination of legal issues and injuries have kept him from producing at a high rate. He rushed for 832 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore, but has managed only 279 yards and one touchdown in his senior season.
