The Nevada Wolfpack and Southern Miss Golden Eagles get to spend Christmas Eve in Hawai'i, playing a football game in the 2011 Hawai'i Bowl.
The Conference USA champion Southern MIss Golden Eagles take on the Nevada Wolf Pack in the 2011 Hawai'i Bowl. Southern Miss won their conference with a big upset victory over then No. 7 ranked Houston. "No one gave us a chance really," Southern Miss quarterback Austin Davis said. "On the road, (No. 7) team in the nation, undefeated. I don't know if I could write a better script. I'm glad it worked out the way it did." Unfortunately for the Eagles, even with the win they didn't get to go to the Liberty Bowl. They will bring their thirteenth ranked offense to Hawai'i to try and beat the Wolf Pack.
Nevada on the other hand brings their fifth ranked offense to Hawai'i, along with one of the nation's best rushing attacks. WAC Freshman of The Year, quarterback Cody Fajardo is expected to start for the Wolf Pack in the bowl game. The dual-threat quarterback should provide a spark for the offense as he returns from an ankle injury. "It feels good, you know, running around, getting it loose," Fajardo said. "The trainers did a nice job in therapy."
Game date, time: 8:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, December 24th
Location: Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, HI
TV channel: ESPN/ESPN3
Odds: Southern Miss favored by 6
