The FedEx Orange Bowl has gained a bit of a reputation as "that other BCS bowl," mainly due to the inclusion of the usually-undeserving Big East representative and a less-than-interesting ACC school. This year doesn't feel much different with the West Virginia Mountaineers taking on the Clemson Tigers.
There isn't much excitement nationally for the game. And as it turns out, there isn't much locally either.
Clemson has only sold about half it's ticket allotment and is projected to take a $185,000 loss on the bowl game, according to The Post and Courier. Meanwhile, West Virginia AD Oliver Luck has said he hopes to keep their ticket losses "under $1 million."
Orange Bowl CEO Eric Poms will get paid "over $500,000" for his work on this year's game. Just thought you'd be interested to know that.

Poms makes over 500k?
So what are you insinuating? That his work is less than noble or altruistic? I’ll have you know, young man, that the books are all about the kids. Think of the children! It strains credulity to think that a sanctified nonprofit could actually be used for someone’s profit, let alone a CEO’s profit.
You, sir, are a slanderer.

Especially when they tell you it’s not about the money.
