Florida State could get back receiver Bert Reed for the Champs Sports Bowl.

Florida St. Seminoles wide receiver Bert Reed, was thought to be likely to miss Thursday's 2011 Champs Sports Bowl against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Now it sounds like things are looking up, as the Orlando Sentinel's Coley Harvey reports:

"I feel way closer," Reed said. "It's just, sometimes I run a route and I realize I'm hurting a little bit. As far as how it felt and how I expected it to feel, I feel way better. The trainers did a good job ... It really got me back to where I needed to be. It got me ahead of schedule.

Jimbo Fisher hasn't declared Reed ready to go, but he seems optimistic.

Reed was also injured in September, missing three games before finishing out the regular season. Despite all the missed time, he ranked fourth on FSU's list in catches, fourth in yards, and tied for second in receiving touchdowns.
