You'd be forgiven for thinking the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are counting on bizarre Florida St. Seminoles turnovers in order to generate scoring. After watching the opening sequence of events, it sure does look that way.
Head here for up-to-the-minute Champs Sports Bowl score updates.
Just before Notre Dame's Tommy Rees fired an interception into the end zone, I said, "Watch this fumble returned for a touchdown." A colleague who's rooting for the Irish shushed me. The interception was followed by a Devonta Freeman fumble Zeke Motta ran back for six, and this is already the most 2011 FSU-Notre Dame game possible.
Not much has happened other than that, beyond Michael Floyd making a great punt return and a nice catch.
