With undefeated Houston struggling in the Conference USA title game, Kansas State's hopes of getting an at-large BCS bowl bid are still alive. The Wildcats are looking to finish their season on a high note against upset-minded Iowa State. The game was initially delayed due to inclement weather and lightning in the Manhattan area.
Paul Rhoads and the Cyclones, just two weeks removed from their big upset over Oklahoma State, are challenging K-State in the first half, taking a 13-10 lead into the second quarter. Jared Barnett opened the scoring for ISU, hitting Darius Darks on a 30 yard strike for the game's first touchdown. The Wildcats would respond on the very next play to tie it with a 68 yard touchdown pass from Collin Klein to Tramaine Thompson.
The tie wouldn't last long, however, as the Cylcones went right back down the field in five plays to take a 13-7 lead, Jeff Woody rumbled in from one yard out for the go-ahead score. K-State would add a field goal to cut the lead to three mid way through the second quarter.
