Oklahoma State Vs. Oklahoma Halftime Score: Cowboys Up 24-3, Making BCS Statement

Oklahoma State is looking to make a statement supporting its BCS National Championship Game credentials in the 2011 edition of the Bedlam rivalry. The Cowboys did a wonderful job of that in the first half against Oklahoma, and carry a 24-3 lead into halftime as a result.

Go here for Bedlam score updates and conversation.

Brandon Weeden threw for 156 yards in the half, and Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith, who combined for 98 rushing yards, each ran for a touchdown as Oklahoma State opened up a 24-0 lead. Only a hurry-up drive from the Sooners and a Michael Hunnicutt field goal that deflected off an upright and in prevented Oklahoma's first first half shutout of 2011.

The Cowboys are looking to win convincingly enough to persuade voters to move them past Alabama in the polls that factor into the BCS formula, but they're also attempting to end a period of rivalry dominance by Oklahoma. The Sooners have won the last eight match-ups against their in-state rivals.
