Oklahoma State needed a dominant win over Oklahoma to sway some voters if it was to have any chance of breaking into the top two of the BCS rankings and playing LSU for a national title. The Cowboys are almost certainly going to secure that win against Oklahoma tonight, and lead 44-3 heading into the fourth quarter.
Go here for Bedlam score updates and conversation.
The Cowboys, who have lost eight straight to Oklahoma in their Bedlam rivalry, are trying hard to leave no doubt about their credentials. The opportunistic Oklahoma State defense has forced four turnovers to increase their nation-leading tally to 41 on the season, and the Cowboys' offense has been efficient and dominant, scoring points on seven drives, just one of them longer than three minutes.
The Cowboys have just five wins in the Bedlam series since the end of World War II. Tonight's devastation of the Sooners might make up for that lopsided rivalry history for some Oklahoma State fans.
