It's about the hottest question in college football right now: Should the formerly No. 2 Alabama remain in that lofty perch in the final BCS standings, putting them in a rematch with LSU for the national title? Or should Oklahoma State move into that spot after thrashing Oklahoma, giving the Tigers a new challenger for the crystal football.
Bob Stoops, Oklahoma coach and thrashee, has an answer.
@TravHaney
Stoops says he will vote LSU 1 and OK State 2 in his coaches ballot.
It might not be wise for Bob Stoops to set foot inside the state of Alabama any time in the next 20 or 30 years. As an Alabama native, I can assure the Oklahoma coach that this comment will not be taken lightly or forgotten.
Putting that aside, Stoops did get a front-row look at Oklahoma State making its BCS case, and apparently came away impressed. Let the politicking begin.

Funny
It looked to me like the game was fixed with some of the no calls, no effort by Oklahoma to make plays, looking like they gave the ball away, and not changing the gameplan when they were down.
It’s no surprise to me that the Big 12 wants to get one of their teams in the BCS.
It’s also no surprise to me that Stoops would side with the apparent (in my opinion) fix, and with the conference. Duh!

This is a satire of Bama fans, right?

Bama, do the classy thing for a change
and bow out. Lets not be unfair to LSU….and you failed already, why do you want to fail again?

OU Fan here
Give me 5 ranked teams that Bama beat this year? How about teams ranked in the top 10? Nobody wants to see another soccer game. This is football.

Miami Fan here, dad is an obnoxious alabama fan
and I’m stil extremely angry that OSU is even being considered for the title game. ISU is 6-6. end of story, Im tired of hearing about the plane crash. It was definitely tragic, but I didn’t see it effecting OSU when they were up by 17, but when they choke under pressure because they can’t play defense, its an excuse all of a sudden

Who brought up the tragic plane crash?
Oklahoma State has a better resumé and has won more big games against a better conference than Alabama has.

OkSt beat five currently-ranked teams.
Alabama beat two. That makes up a lot of quality-of-loss difference.
I've got this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left-hand side.

Alabama should blame itself
Maybe if they’d scheduled meaningful opposition instead of Kent State, North Texas, and Georgia Southern for their Out of Conference opponents, we wouldn’t have to have this discussion.
Bama’s signature win is against a #12 Florida team that FSU beat just as handily in the Swamp. (I’m still trying to figure out how Florida IS ranked that high, to be honest). And Florida played that game with a backup QB. Their only road wins of merit were Penn State and Auburn, both teams barely in the top 25.
Quite honestly, they can’t claim a better strength of schedule than Boise State, given their reliance on the SEC, which IMHO, was down this year (especially the shambolic east). I don’t see the love affair, other than the usual “SEC
” chanting. It’s time they start scheduling meaningful non-conference games and back up their talk.

You going back to 2007 to defend Alabama this season?
Meaningless. This isn’t the 2007 SEC. The entire East is a disaster. It’s best team dominated more thoroughly by Boise State than it was LSU.
Alabama chose to schedule THREE cupcakes on their schedule. In addition to the usual SEC cupcakes, Vanderbilt and the two Mississippi teams (and yes, they’re cupcakes, or coaches wouldn’t get fired for losing to them).
5-2 ranked teams in favor of OSU
7-3 bowl-bound teams in favor of OSU.
You can’t argue strength of schedule. And Sagarin even says the Big 12 was the STRONGER conference this season.

Arkansas is ranked higher than anyone OSU beat.
And Bama beat them 38-13. Bama also played LSU. Those to teams more than balance the strength of schedule in Bama’s favor.
by philadelphiacub on Dec 4, 2011 1:57 PM EST up reply actions
Arkansas ever being #3 was a laugh.
But again. 5-2 & 7-3. Doing it 1 week isn’t enough, or Boise would be ranked above them both, because they have a better AQ beatdown percentage than anyone.

OK State better watch out
If they get in…this guy with the last name Updyke will definitely poison something sacred to them…bc he has too much Bama in him
