To little surprise, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and South Carolina Gamecocks will meet in the 2012 Capital One Bowl, a game that will likely not be heralded for astounding quarterback play. If defensive coordinator Carl Pelini sticks around before taking the FAU job as has been reported, it'll also mean a trip into Florida to see the Huskers DC off.
The Capital One Bowl is played annually in Orlando, Florida in the Citrus Bowl. Originally the bowl was called the Tangerine Bowl before becoming the Florida Citrus Bowl, but took on the exclusive Capital One Bowl name in 2003. The game is typically played on New Year's Day, just before the Rose Bowl, but will be played on Monday this year because January 1st falls on a Sunday. The game typically pits the Big Ten against the SEC.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN and streamed on-line live on ESPN3. The game will also be broadcast in 3D on ESPN 3D, if you're into that kind of thing. The game will be called by Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore and Quint Kessenich.
Game date, time:1:00 pm ET, Monday, January 2nd
Location:Citrus Bow, Orlando, FL
TV channel: ESPN/ESPN3
2010 winner and loser: Alabama, Michigan State
