Pat Hill, the Fresno State Bulldogs head coach since 1997, will not return in 2012.
Fresno State Bulldogs head coach Pat Hill, who has been at the helm of the football program at the college since 1997, will not be retained, according to CollegeFootballTalk.
Fresno State announced on Sunday that they will be parting ways with the head coach. Hill won a WAC championship with the Bulldogs in 1999, but his 2011 season was mostly forgettable. In his 15th season with the team, Fresno finished with an overall 4-8 record, going 3-4 in WAC play.
Hill's tenure at Fresno State has so far been his only experience as head coach, although he has been involved in coaching both in the NCAA and the NFL since 1977. He holds an overall head coaching record of 108-71 and is 4-7 in bowl games.
The Bulldogs are set to join the Mountain West Conference in 2012 and it appears they will be moving to a new coach's regime as well as to a new conference.
