The Cotton Bowl will retain its traditional SEC vs. Big 12 pairing, matching up the Arkansas Razorbacks against the Kansas State Wildcats. Arkansas finished third in a stacked SEC West this season, going 10-2 with losses against LSU and Alabama, the top two teams in the final BCS rankings. Kansas State edged Oklahoma and Baylor as the Big 12's representative in the Cotton Bowl. The Wildcats went 10-2, thanks to 2,844 total yards from quarterback Collin Klein.
The Cotton Bowl is annually regarded as one of the largest non-BCS bowl games of the season. Traditionally, the game has pitted the second-place team in the Big 12 against he third- or fourth-place team in the SEC. The game used to be played in its namesake stadium in Dallas, TX. Since 2007, the game has been played in the renovated Cowboys Stadium, however.
The SEC has won seven of the last eight Cotton Bowl matchups, including LSU's 41-24 win over Texas A&M last season. The Aggies, of course, will be joining the Tigers in the SEC starting next season. This year's iteration of the Cotton Bowl will receive the NFL treatment, with Kenny Albert and Daryl Johnston set to call the game.
Game date, time: 8:00 pm ET, Friday, January 6th
Location: Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, TX
TV channel: FOX
2010 winner and loser: LSU, Texas A&M
