Cliff Harris has been dismissed by Oregon football.
The Oregon Ducks have dismissed star junior cornerback Cliff Harris, the school announced Monday. Oregon is scheduled to play next in the 2012 Rose Bowl against the Wisconsin Badgers. No word yet on what the particular issue was this time around.
Starting the year suspended, he played in only four games this season, accumulating eight tackles and an interception. Oregon fans called for him to play, but he evidently wasn't able to make his way back into the coaching staff's good graces.
Harris is a talented, dynamite player who'll be remembered best in Eugene for his diverse array of traffic adventures -- coaxing land speed records from seemingly ungifted automobiles, informing law enforcement exactly how much weed had been smoked, and so forth.
He's also the player who once said of Oregon's uniform colors: "Money be green." Just throwing that in there, because it's one of many endearing things about Cliff Harris.
