The Alabama Crimson Tide has added an excellent tight end to its roster.
Kurt Freitag, a talented and underrated tight end from Buford, Georgia has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Freitag held offers from more than 20 schools, including Florida, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina and South Carolina. Ultimately, his choice came down to Alabama and Florida.
Evaluators who have seen Freitag this season say that he is much better than the three-star rating given to him by three of the four major services. He's widely considered one of the top-20 tight ends in the country, and should rise strongly in the final rankings.
At 6'3" and 240 pounds, Freitag already has good size. He'll be a balanced tight end in college, capable of being a receiving threat and a capable blocker. Freitag does not have top speed, but he is tough and smart; capable of working in the short and intermediate areas and the red zone. Buford is a loaded program with D1 athletes all over the field, yet Freitag still manages to stand out.
