Back-to-back 10-2 seasons in the SEC have lead to coaching changes on Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bobby Petrino's coaching staff.
On Monday, offensive coordinator Garrick McGee accepted the head coaching position with the UAB Blazers. The following day, special teams coordinator John L. Smith was named head coach at Weber State and defensive coordinator Willy Robinson announced his resignation, the Arkansas News reports.
"I want to thank Willy Robinson for his role in helping our defense, which he leaves in better shape than when he arrived," Petrino said in a statement released by the university.
The Razorbacks ranked 46th in total defense in 2007, the year before Petrino & Co. arrived in Little Rock, allowing 365.6 yards per game. This year, the unit ranked 51st, allowing 371.4 yards per game.
Petrino's brother Paul has replaced McGee as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. No replacement has been identified for Robinson, who will not coach in the Cotton Bowl. Linebackers coach Reggie Johnson is an internal candidate for interim coordinator duties.
