Two surprise visitors joining Wilson at Texas

A week ago, it didn't look like the 'Horns were going to have a single visitor the weekend before Signing Day, but they now have three prospects on campus.

Oklahoma blowouts could hurt Texas recruiting

Back in the middle part of the last decade, Oklahoma was winning major recruiting battles against Texas. With two straight blowouts, the pendulum could swing back in favor of the Sooners again.

Texas Leading Again For Caleb Benenoch

The raucous atmosphere at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium over the weekend was enough to convince 2013 Katy (TX) Seven Lakes offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch that the Texas Longhorns are once again the leader for his services.

Following the Texas A&M-Florida game back in September, Benenoch had dropped his long-time leaders from their perch atop his list.

The 6-6, 320-pounder had a glowing review of his experience ($):

I had a lot of fun. It was a blast getting to hang out with all the recruits and commits and watch a big game. I don’t know if that’s what DKR is like all the time, but that was terrific. It was a lot of fun. It was ridiculously loud and everybody was chanting the whole game.

A lifelong Longhorn fan who was rumored to be a silent commitment for some time immediately after receiving his offer from Texas back in early June, sounded like he may have been close to ending his recruitment over the weekend:

Every time I go to UT, it’s harder and harder to come back without committing while I’m there. I’m a big fan and I love the program and everything about it.

Benenoch spoke with about his favorites ($):

My top four now is Texas, Baylor, OU and then UCLA in that order. Baylor and OU are kind of tied though.

Benenoch plans on making his decision after taking an official visit to UCLA, which will happen after his senior season.

Chevoski Collins Commits To Texas

Texas Junior Day: 'Horns Bringing Top Crop Of Recruits To Austin

The Texas Longhorns are famous for starting the trend of filling up a recruiting class early in the cycle. It's not uncommon for the 'Horns to have 75 percent or more of their class filled before the football season starts. And most of this is done via junior days.

Another junior day for Texas is coming up on February 12th, and Wescott Eberts of the excellent Texas site, Burnt Orange Nation has compiled a list of the top recruits set to visit Austin:

As usual, none of these players have been officially offered yet, but odds are high that nearly every one will receive an offer if they do indeed make it to campus. The question then becomes which of those players will commit during that weekend and if that number is closer to that four commitments secured last year or the 13 secured the year before.

Head on over to Burnt Orange Nation for the list of top recruits!

Texas Turns Focus To 2012 Recruiting Class

Fresh off a 21-10 win over Cal, the Texas Longhorns turn their attention to recruiting. And Texas readers are fortunate to have a tremendous Longhorns resource in Burnt Orange Nation. And Wescott Eberts of BON joins us to talk Texas football recruiting. In typical fashion, Texas is battling Alabama for the top recruiting class. Again. Texas currently sits at 25 commitments, and almost all of them are stars. Take it away, Wescott:
