NCAA Investigating Auburn's Recruitment Of Greg Robinson, Trovon Reed, According To Reports

The Auburn Tigers' recruitment of OL Greg Robinson and WR Trovon Reed has stirred up an NCAA investigation, according to Fox Sports' Thayer Evans. The subject of the reported investigation is the players' unofficial visits to the school with Sean Nelson, Reed's guardian and a former Thibodaux, Louisiana high school football player.

According to Sports by Brooks, investigators spoke with Nelson, Robinson, Robinson's mother, and Robinson's former high school football coach, Dennis Lorio, who last December claimed multiple people saw Robinson brandishing a newly acquired iPhone and money after visiting Auburn.

When questioned again on the issue by Fox Sports, Lorio responded, "My answer is what went on with Greg's recruitment, you're going to have ask Trooper Taylor, Greg, his parents and, I believe, Sean Nelson."

Taylor has denied giving money to Nelson or Robinson. This reported investigation doesn't appear to have any immediate connections to the ongoing Cam Newton investigation, other than Taylor's involvement as recruiter.
