Cyrus Kouandjio Apparently Delaying Auburn, Alabama Choice Beyond National Signing Day

Cyrus Kouandjio hasn’t signed his Auburn Tigers letter of intent as of late National Signing Day, and he doesn’t look like he intends to, either. Today, at least. Kouandjio announced on ESPNU this morning that he’d be headed to the Plains, but reportedly had second thoughts almost immediately.

He’s been quoted as saying, I have big doubts about my decision. I feel like I may have made the wrong choice," and adding on Facebook, “Just not completely sure…want to be around the fam and just wait.”

Most are speculating he’s thinking about joining his brother Arie as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide. That would count as fam, wouldn’t it? Those around him have no idea what he’s thinking, or at least not enough to comment publicly:

“I don’t know what to say,” DeMatha Coach Bill McGregor said. “I don’t know if it’s a lot of drama about nothing or if he wants to change his mind.”

From the sound of it, the nation’s No. 4 recruit will join its No. 1 in settling on a school after signing day, though there’s no way of knowing just how long he’ll wait. Maybe he’ll announce on his birthday a la Jadeveon Clowney — anybody know when that is?
