Michael Floyd Suspended Indefinitely By Notre Dame Football Following DUI Arrest

Stay connected with SB Nation

Michael Floyd has been suspended indefinitely by Notre Dame Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly after the star receiver was arrested for DUI on Sunday. In a statement, Kelly expressed concern for his player, leaving the door open for him to return once certain changes have been made:

I’ve spoken to Michael Floyd and his mother and, in light of what took place this past weekend, I let him know he has been suspended indefinitely from football team-related activities. Football needs to take a backseat at the moment while Michael gets his life in order, and while I don’t know when Michael will be reinstated, it will not happen until Michael demonstrates he has successfully modified his behavior and the legal and university disciplinary matters have run their respective courses.

Earlier this offseason, Floyd made the decision to come back to South Bend instead of going for that NFL Draft money. He now has to work his way back into Kelly’s good graces if he wants to see the field again.
