Steve Spurrier Arrested (Not Really) At South Carolina Practice

Between all of the on-field mistakes and the off-field disciplinary issues, college football fans have been trying for years to figure out why Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier sticks with ruffian quarterback Stephen Garcia. Spurrier said, jokingly, that CPD heard of a robbery of a convenience store down the street. He said a witness said the person looked like "the Ball Coach."

Yes, jokingly. Spurrier and the Columbia police chief were trying to prove a still-unclear point about Jadeveon Clowney's encounter with the law Thursday night at Five Points. Sorry, fans of opposing teams. After all, running up the score isn't against the law -- and Spurrier hasn't done it in such a long time that the statute of limitations has surely expired.
