Duke LB Tyree Glover Arrested, Charged With Cocaine Trafficking
It is a mark of the national prominence of Duke football that this happened on Tuesday, was announced on Wednesday, and we're only just hearing about it Thursday morning, but here you go: Sophomore Blue Devils linebacker Tyree Glover has been arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking, and is currently cooling his heels in the Durham County jail with a $750,000 bond to his name. The Durham Herald-Sun has the arrest details:
Thanks to that last bit, Glover is also being charged with marijuana possession, which for the moment seems less important, considering. David Cutcliffe has kicked him off the team as of Wednesday, citing "conduct unbecoming of a member of the program," sending a clear message that "We are cocaine traffickers!" is not a desirable identity to be associated with Duke football.
Glover started just one game in 2010, but topped the last Blue Devils' spring depth chart at outside linebacker, flanking Abraham Kromah along with Damian Thornton. Duke ranked 108th nationally last season in total defense.
