SB Nation's CougCenter spoke with four Washington State football recruits over the weekend to discuss the process of college commitments for elite high school athletes. It's a good read overall, but we'd like to draw your attention to the rather intimate way in which Paul Wulff won the hearts of the family of Apopka, Fla. cornerback Spencer Waseem:
What ultimately made you decide WSU was the right place for you?
Waseem: Coach Ball he was always honest to me. I had other coaches come into my house and promise me a starting position and all kinda stuff. Coach Ball promised me he would coach me up. Also, Coach Wulff came to my house and ate my dad's Gumbo then used my bathroom (#2) so we were family at that point.
Marshall's Doc Holliday, also in the running for Waseem's services, admires Wulff's gumption, but was unable to match his in-home display of enthusiasm, as his bowels have not moved since 1984.
