Travis Williams Among Four Miami Hurricanes Football Players Leaving Program

The Miami Hurricanes football team has announced that four players will transfer from the program at the end of the spring semester. Linebacker Travis Williams leads the group of four that also includes Devont'a Davis, Kevin Nelson and Jamal Reid.

Only Williams, a redshirt freshman who sat out the 2010 season due to a knee injury, was expected to receive significant playing time during the 2011 season. Linebacker Nelson and defensive backs Davis and Reid would have struggled to see time on the playing field in the fall.

Williams' transfer stems from an alleged event on April 27. According to reports, new head coach Al Golden suspended four players for the 2011 season opener, Williams being part of that group, for a supposed incident over marijuana on campus that day.

Tight end Andrew Tallman is also rumored to be looking to transfer, playing time the issue as well.
