Notre Dame and Michigan will go old school for a Sept. 10 meeting in Ann Arbor. Though the rivalry is long-standing, the 2011 meeting holds extra significance; it will be the first night game ever played at the Big House. And to mark the occasion, the Fighting Irish and Wolverines will don new, or old depending on how you view it, uniforms.
The jerseys are billed as retros, but serve more as a new twist on an old idea. For two schools with long, storied histories, it's only natural the historic game would feature a retro look.
First up: Michigan, whose uniform features a bit of an old look and some oddly placed stripes.
And here's the Notre Dame version.

The Notre Dame uniforms look about how you'd envision them, with green featured a little more prominently and an overall clean look. The Michigan uniforms also have a clean look, but the stripes on the shoulders are a break from the norm. At least it matches the helmet, I guess.
