Victor Hampton Reinstated To South Carolina Football Team Just Days After Dismissal

Just days after South Carolina defensive back Victor Hampton was dismissed from the football team following a violation of team rules, a USC spokesman confirmed that Hampton was reinstated on Tuesday. What he could have done in five days to return to the team is still unknown, and may never be known, but the South Carolina football team has certainly had its bad share of publicity lately, including DeVonte Holloman's DUI arrest.

Garnet and Black Attack, our South Carolina blog, believes educating these players will be far more beneficial than outright dismissal, at least for now:

However, our coaches should put educating these players before placating the folks out there who believe that examples need to be made when kids screw up. Sometimes educating might involve very harsh penalties, but oftentimes it involves other conditions. We should all remember that as we evaluate the various off-season police-blotter news that inevitably will happen to us and other teams over the course of the summer.

But having previously brought alcohol to a part shortly after signing day, how long until Hampton becomes a habitual problem?
