Brian Rolle was offered a car. Really, that's something of a rite of passage at Ohio State, so that's not news. But perhaps, given all the arrows that have been slung at Jim Tressel over the last few weeks, Rolle's reason he didn't give it a second thought is interesting.
"It’s not (hard) when you live by certain morals, something that Coach Tressel instilled in me," Rolle said. "Sometimes a 10 second decision can affect your life and that’s something I thought about."
File that in your "People are complicated" folder, which you should keep on hand to remind you that few individuals are as simple as the caricatures of them that appear on your television. Or roll your eyes cynically at the thought of Jim Tressel telling his players to avoid breaking NCAA rules, then ignoring clear evidence that they were. After everything we've learned about Tressel, either reaction is appropriate.
