Boise State's Blue Turf Invisibility Trick Banned By MWC

Stay connected with SB Nation

Boise State sold its soul when joining the Mountain West Conference and we're all better for it. As a condition of their membership, the Broncos have reportedly agreed not to wear blue uniforms at home, negating their cloaking ability. Boise State's blue turf has been a hot button in college athletics, and the Mountain West wanted to ensure a level, albeit colorful, playing turf.

Boise State head coach Chris Petersen was not amused, and will have to redesign his playbook without the ability to turn on the Bronco's super secret cloak machine contained within the home turf.

"I thought it was ridiculous," Petersen said. "… That’s our colors. That’s who we are. That’s who our fans have wanted us to be since I’ve been at Boise State. That’s what it’s been through and through."

When reached for comment, the turf had this to say:

Sadly, the end of the blue uniforms likely means the beginning of an assault on our senses as Boise State wears orange at home, creating a horrific contrast that's sure to break many a television.
