Hawaii Football Considering Nearby Japan For Future Game

For most of their history, the Hawaii Warriors have avoided road trips whenever possible. This is true for anyone who lives in Hawaii, because they live in Hawaii. Have you ever tried to leave Hawaii?

Though they've managed to play as few as two road games -- including a bowl bid -- in a single season before, in recent years the Warriors have been expanding their travel plans, partially thanks to schools like Louisiana Tech and TCU joining the WAC and partially due to more aggressive out-of-conference scheduling.

So the news that they're looking to play a game in Osaka, Japan against a Mountain West or Pac-12 foe isn't that surprising. It's really not that far out of their way, actually.
