Charles Robinson Explains Nevin Shapiro Investigation To Miami Fans

Nevin Shapiro investigator Charles Robinson didn't really have to address a list of questions asked of him by concerned Miami fans, but it's pretty cool that he did.

Kind of think he might wonder whether he could've saved himself a lot of hassle by just not including credit card receipts, since some people are so hung up on their role in the story. Even though Robinson made it clear Yahoo! Sports went by more than just bills and statements, too many readers got sidetracked at the sight of those documents somehow.

The piece is worth a read, but prepare to see the following exchange more or less repeated a few times:

Q. How is someone considered to be receiving impermissible benefits with the only evidence being a credit card statement? Numerical amounts say what you purchase but doesn't say for whom. How do you prove that by the word of a guy who manipulated $900+ million from people? How do you know that you aren't being duped?

A. See the response above. It wasn't just credit card statements. We verified by other means.
