Andrew Lowery, the victim in the brawl that saw LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and linebacker Joshua Johns arrested on felony battery charges, reportedly suffered extensive injuries in the fight, including a facial fracture, a concussion, fractured teeth and facial and body bruises according to an ESPN report. The driver who was reportedly pulled from a vehicle and beaten before being helped by Lowery suffered three fractured vertebrae in his lower back, a concussion, fractured teeth and sever cuts and bruises on his face.

Jefferson's attorney denies the allegations.

"It is more than unjust to destroy this young man's career if it's all about a bunch of nothing, which is what I think," defense attorney Lewis Unglesby said Monday.

Both sides of the brawl tell differing accounts of the events of that night. Several eye witnesses have come forward saying that Lowery threw the first punch. Lowery told investigators that he was simply coming to the aid of the man in the vehicle, who had been pulled from his truck by the LSU players. Head coach Les Miles issued a statement indicating that team is ready to move on without the players for the season opener.

"There's a heartfelt loss, if you will, of missing two players," Miles said. "That being said, it's just all about (looking) forward and pulling together and going with a little different cast of characters. There are some things we can control and some things we can't, and right now there are two who aren't in the huddle and we'll line up and play in their absence."
