Maryland has suspended running back D.J. Adams and offensive lineman Cody Blue for Monday's season-opener against Miami. That brings the total number of players suspended for that game to 10, as the NCAA had already suspended eight Miami players because of their connection to the Nevin Shapiro investigation.
Maryland coach Randy Edsall said RB D.J. Adams & OL Cody Blue have been suspended 4 Miami game 4 violation of team rules. Canes 8, Terps 2
Speculation that Adams and Blue may have been suspended started last week when the Terrapins depth chart was released with their names omitted. No word was given as to the reason until Tuesday, when coach Randy Edsall explained that they had violated team rules. Both players are suspended for one game.
Adams is the far more significant player of the two. The backup running back scored 11 touchdowns last season on just 67 carries. That leaves the backup duties to a pair of freshman behind starter Davin Meggett
