Texas Is Always Ranked In ESPN's Eyes

The necessary context for our game here is to realize that this is supposed to be a list of Top 25 games that ESPN is previewing. That said, can you tell which of these things is not like the others?

If you said "unranked Texas' game against unranked Rice," you are correct. Of course, we're sure that this has nothing to do with the fact that the game is on the Longhorn Network, or the fact that ESPN has signed a $150 million contract with unranked Texas to create the Longhorn Network.

East Coast bias

East Coast bias has been a clarion call for everyone who’s team has been slighted by “the media,” but in this case, it seems ESPN bias is going to be an actuality. ESPN has a vested interest in the success of Texas football and will do things, some subtle like this, but others not so subtle, to prop up that program. So if your team at some point in the future is ranked aboveTexas, but somehow Texas slips past them in the rankings to secure a nice bowl spot, you’ve just been bent over by the WWL in bias.

Clever sign off pending.
