Arizona State is working on collecting all of the penalties, but Missouri has been unable to take advantage, settling for two field goals in the third quarter. The second field goal, which came after the Tigers were stuffed on the one-yard-line, tied the game at 16 as Missouri crawled back from a six-point halftime deficit.
Arizona State's quick-strike offense struck again on the next possession as Brock Osweiler led the Sun Devils down the field, setting up a bit of trickeration. On first and 10 from the Missouri 35, Osweiler delivered a pass to Jamal Miles, who calmly hit Aaron Pflugrad on a trick play for the touchdown.
Pflugrad has been on fire, catching four passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns on the night. Miles has four catches for 30 yards and a receiving score to go with his 35-yard touchdown pass.
In the third quarter, the Sun Devils lead the Tigers, 23-16.
