Georgia Bulldogs fans don't really like to think of the South Carolina Gamecocks as a major rival, despite the pair traditionally opening the SEC schedule together. The Dawgs have dominated the series both historically and recently, but the two programs are suddenly on differing trajectories.
While Mark Richt's hot seat has reached a boil after Boise State escaped Atlanta with all of the chicken sandwiches, a win against the preseason SEC East favorite would cool things down quite a bit. Meanwhile, Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier is sitting pretty, albeit with as wacky a quarterback situation as ever.
Look for the Carolina pass rush to be a key as a UGA line that gave up six sacks looks to contend with Jadeveon Clowney's first college start. A big Gamecocks win wouldn't be a shocker, but the Dawgs have become a trendy upset pick as the week's gone on.
