The Mississippi St. Bulldogs took the field against the LSU Tigers in one of the most charged atmospheres Starkville's ever provided. The Bulldogs' opening drive didn't produce much offense, but one significant result could be mighty damaging for MSU: right guard Tobias Smith had to be carried off the field after suffering an injury.
Smith appeared to withstand a left leg injury after Mississippi State's third down effort. He was spotted on the bench with a towel over his head and quarterback Chris Relf sitting nearby. He'll likely be replaced by freshman Damien Robinson, giving MSU multiple freshmen on its offensive line against one of the country's most fearsome defensive fronts.
Offensive linemen James Carmon and Quentin Saulsberry were hurt in last week's game against the Auburn Tigers.
