Maryland wide receivers Ronnie Tyler and Quintin McCree have been suspended for violating team rules.

The Maryland Terrapins have suspended wide receivers Quintin McCree and Ronnie Tyler indefinitely, coach Randy Edsall announced Thursday. That's an important pair of players, with Tyler coming in third on the team in receiving yards after one game and providing the Terps' only receiving touchdown and McCree contributing seven catches for 39 yards.

Maryland could use all the weaponry it can field for its next game, which is against Dana Holgorsen's West Virginia Mountaineers. Nevertheless, here's Edsall on the suspensions, which were due to the always-nebulous violations of team rules:

The expectation of our program is for our student-athletes to conduct themselves in the proper manner academically, athletically and socially. Unfortunately, Quintin and Ronnie fell short of these expectations.

Sounds like "socially" was the one that did it, if you like to speculate.
