Boise State Vs. Toledo Score Update: Broncos Lead 20-9 At Halftime

Stay connected with SB Nation

Who said WAC vs. MAC had to be boring? The waning moments of the first half of the game between Boise State and Toledo saw fans throwing yellow footballs onto the field, a Boise touchdown on a throw that appeared to go several stories into the night sky and an acrobatic sideline catch to set Toledo up for an at-the-gun field goal. And the game has not turned into a hopeless blowout (yet).

On the other hand, the box score looks pretty much like what you would expect from a 20-9 game. Boise has outgained Toledo 324-194. Kellen Moore has had a great night, going 19-of-23 for 298 yards and three touchdowns. The Rockets have largely shut down Doug Martin, at least on the ground, limiting him to 23 yards on 10 carries. Martin does have 96 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Tyler Shoemaker has two scoring grabs for the Broncos, including one with 17 seconds left in the half on a pass that Moore lofted high into the air.

Toledo countered by going 34 yards in 14 seconds to set up a 34-yard field goal by Ryan Casano. That leaves the Rockets in an 11-point hole after the first half -- but you could have found a few experts earlier today who would have told you it could be worse.
