Tennessee and Florida renew their rivalry at The Swamp on Saturday
The rivalry between the Tennessee Volunteers and Florida Gators is, historically, a significant and hotly contested one. Unfortunately for Vols and neutrals, it's been completely dominated by Florida recently, as the Gators have won the last six in a row between the two teams. That's not expected to change on Saturday at The Swamp, with Florida favored at home.
However, in years past, a ranked Florida side playing at home would have been a much heavier favorite against a Tennessee program in transition. Will Muschamp, Charlie Weis and company are off to a good start in Gainesville, but they're dealing with a young team and won't be national title contenders right away. Meanwhile, Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray looks fantastic, while Tennessee's running game looks very effective.
Could an upset be in the cards? It's not likely, but it's also not that far-fetched.
Game date, time: 3:30 pm ET, Saturday, September 17th
Location: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Florida
TV channel: CBS
Spread: Florida favored by 8.5
