Jerry Kill Plans To Coach Minnesota One Week After Suffering Seizure

During the Minnesota Golden Gophers' game against New Mexico State last week, Gophers head coach Jerry Kill suffered a seizure on the sidelines. Kill has a history of seizures, but the one that caused him to collapse, then be taken to the hospital last Saturday was an especially bad one. Incredibly, after a five-day stay in the hospital during which he experienced additional seizures, Kill is expected to coach Minnesota Saturday against Miami of Ohio.

Kill has not yet decided whether to coach from the sidelines or the press box, but the fact that he's coaching at all is incredible. He said that the seizure was one of the worst that he's experienced and that "It's kind of knocked me out." Kill did not stay with the team in their hotel on Friday night, but took place in the Friday walkthrough and participated in meetings with his assistants.
