There are several ways Kirk Ferentz likely saw the season beginning for his Iowa Hawkeyes. Going 1-2 with losses to intrastate rival Iowa State and Pittsburgh was probably not one of them -- but that's the situation Iowa faces as time winds down on the first quarter at Kinnick Stadium with the Panthers leading 10-0.
Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri is already 5-of-8 for 104 yards and a touchdown, the score going to Devin Street on a 66-yards pass play. Ray Graham has already run for 39 yards on eight carries. Iowa quarterback James Vandenberg has similar numbers to Sunseri's, but with the unwanted addition of a pick.
The other portion of Pitt's lead came on a Kevin Harper 37-yard field goal following a nine-play drive for the Panthers. For now, moving the ball is not proving to be one of PItt's problems.
