Michigan Vs. Eastern Michigan Score: EMU Up 3-0, Almost Had More

Stay connected with SB Nation

Eastern Michigan is looking surprisingly stout in Ann Arbor today, scoring first with a 21-yard field goal to open the second quarter. It looks bad for Michigan, but things could be worse.

On Eastern’s previous drive, the Eagles took advantage of a Denard Robinson interception to march 72 yards all the way to the Michigan one-yard line. Eagles head coach Ron English decided to go for it on fourth down, but Javonti Greene couldn’t punch it in. Michigan quickly went three and out on the following possession, though, and the Eagles got the ball back on the 24-yard line, which eventually led to Eastern getting on the board first.

Moral of the story? Not sure there is one. Michigan will almost certainly win this game — by several touchdowns — but Eastern isn’t going to lay down.
