Auburn Vs. Clemson Update: Tigers Tied With Tigers, 21-21, At The Half

And now it's tied. Auburn led by 14-0 and 21-7 at different points in the first half, but the Tigers (Clemson variety) have stormed back to even things up at 21 apiece. If these teams keep things going at the current pace, the second half promises to be another barnburner.

The Tigers (Auburn variety) have largely relied on the running game, picking up 157 yards on the ground -- including 86 yards and two touchdowns by Michael Dyer on 10 carries. Quarterback Barrett Trotter is 8-of-14 for 128 yards and a touchdown.

Clemson, meanwhile, is relying on Tajh Boyd to do the heavy lifting. The Tigers (Clemson variety) quarterback is 16-of-24 for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Andre Ellington has added 33 yards and a score on 10 carries and a touchdown, though he's mostly making slow and steady progress -- his long run of the afternoon is for nine yards. Sammy Watkins has carried the ball for 25 yards once and four yards another time.

Contributing to the outburst is both teams' lightning-fast tempo. We've already had 81 offensive plays -- not counting the snaps for punts and the like. Dabo Swinney's reaction when an ESPN sideline reporter asked him what he thought about the high snap count? "We don't give a crap." Apparently not.
