Penn State's chances to take control of its match-up with Temple keep getting better. But the Nittany Lions still haven't broken through in Philadelphia, trailing the Owls 10-7 in the fourth quarter.
After blocking a field goal in the second quarter, Temple blocked a punt in the third — earning an incremental field position advantage — and then got a break when the Nittany Lions turned great field position after a Chaz Powell interception into nothing, missing a fourth quarter field goal that clanged off the right upright.
It was the third missed field goal for Penn State, which has outgained Temple by over 100 yards, today, and it might well be followed by a fourth kick if the current Nittany Lions drive into Temple territory, also set up by an interception, stalls.
